FAQ
Choosing the right type of lymphatic massage depends on your individual needs and health status. Here’s a guide to help you decide which massage is best suited for you:
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
Description: This is the traditional Vodder-style manual lymphatic drainage, a gentle, precise technique that promotes lymphatic flow and reduces fluid retention.
Who It's For: MLD is ideal for individuals with chronic health conditions, such as lymphedema, lipedema, or other conditions that cause edema and swelling. If your doctor has recommended lymphatic drainage to manage a specific health concern, this is the most appropriate option for you.
Benefits: MLD can help reduce swelling, improve circulation, and support the immune system. It’s especially beneficial for those experiencing chronic conditions, as it targets the lymphatic system to aid in reducing fluid buildup and promoting overall well-being.
Why Choose This: Book this massage if you need therapeutic support for a medical condition. It's a gentle, non-invasive treatment focused on improving lymphatic function and managing symptoms associated with fluid retention.
Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage (BLD)
Description: Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage is a more dynamic, invigorating form of lymphatic massage often used for wellness and aesthetic purposes. It employs rhythmic and slightly faster techniques to promote lymphatic flow and enhance body contouring.
Who It's For: This style is suitable for individuals who are generally healthy and looking for a wellness boost. It’s popular among those seeking to reduce bloating, enhance body contours, or support detoxification. If you’re looking for the type of lymphatic massage commonly showcased on social media for its immediate visual results, this is the one to choose.
Benefits: BLD can help reduce water retention, improve circulation, and provide an immediate sense of lightness. It’s often used to achieve a more toned and sculpted appearance while promoting overall wellness.
Why Choose This: Book this massage if you’re seeking a wellness treatment to enhance your body's natural detoxification process, reduce bloating, or simply indulge in a revitalizing experience. It's also great for a quick pick-me-up before an event or for ongoing wellness maintenance.
Post-Op Massage
Description: Post-Op Massage is specifically designed for individuals recovering from surgery, such as plastic surgery, liposuction, or gender-affirming surgery. We primarily use the Vodder technique of manual lymphatic drainage to support the healing process, and a variety of other post op techniques once you are more healed to improve scar tissue.
Who It's For: This massage is intended for clients who are in the post-operative phase and need support in managing swelling, reducing discomfort, and promoting proper healing. It's suitable for anyone looking to aid their recovery after surgical procedures.
Benefits: Post-Op Massage helps reduce post-surgical swelling, improve circulation, and support the healing of incisions and tissues. As you progress in your recovery, we may introduce other techniques to address scar tissue and enhance mobility.
Why Choose This: Book this massage if you’re recovering from surgery and need specialized care to reduce swelling, manage discomfort, and support your body’s healing process. Our approach is tailored to your unique needs at each stage of recovery, ensuring a safe and effective treatment plan.
